Jennifer Lynn Barnes, known as Jen, hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has worn many hats throughout her diverse life—from competitive cheerleader and volleyball player to dancer and debutante. A researcher in primate cognition, a teen model, and a passionate comic book geek, Jen’s interests extend to the study of lemurs as well. She has been crafting stories since childhood, completing her first full manuscript during high school. At nineteen, she wrote her debut novel, *Golden*. Jen graduated high school in 2002 and earned a degree in cognitive science from Yale University in 2006. Following her graduation, she embarked on an enriching year abroad, conducting autism research at the University of Cambridge.
