Steven D. Levitt is a renowned American economist, best known as the co-author of the bestselling book Freakonomics and its sequels, alongside Stephen J. Dubner. Notably awarded the 2003 John Bates Clark Medal for his influential research in crime economics, he holds the prestigious position of William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. Additionally, Levitt is the Faculty Director and Co-Founder of the Center for Radical Innovation for Social Change at the University, which fosters initiatives like the Data Science for Everyone coalition.
