Dede's first story, “Seers,” was published in *Grain* magazine and earned a nomination for the CBC Literary Award, paving the way for her contributions to various literary journals. She has also co-edited a collection of non-fiction stories about childbirth with fellow author Lisa Moore. Currently residing in Victoria, B.C., Dede is working on her second teen novel, *Poster Boy*, inspired by the evocative landscapes of Vancouver Island that she believes urge stories to be told.
